What is trailer tent insurance?

Trailer tent insurance provides customers with insurance for their trailer tents whilst parked on the drive, and when they are on holiday. There are so many different types of holiday you can go on when you have a caravan or a trailer tent, with the beaches, forests and lakes of both Britain and the whole of Europe at our fingertips, there truly is an amazing holiday to be had for everyone.

The last thing you want on that holiday is to find that something goes wrong, but sometimes it will. Whilst we cannot prevent such things from happening, we can be prepared for them, and that’s why trailer tent insurance is so important for trailer tent owners.

Why do I need trailer tent insurance?

You may have read that your trailer tent is insured through your car insurance. Technically this is true, although only while you are towing the trailer tent. If a tyre bursts on the motorway you are covered, but whilst your trailer tent is parked on the drive at home, or is at the campsite and not hooked up to the car, it is not.

This is why you need trailer tent insurance. As trailer tents are not full fixed structures, they are particularly susceptible to the elements. Freak weather has become more and more common with global warming, and flash floods, high winds and storms in the summer are not uncommon either in Britain or across Europe.

Bad Weather

Your trailer tent insurance policy will protect your trailer tent from any damage caused as a result of storm, flood or water damage, as well as the contents of your trailer tent, which when you are on holiday can include clothes, laptops, mobile phones and iPods.

Thieves

Trailer tents also suffer from not being such a solid structure when it comes to stopping thieves getting in, and as such, you will want to be insured just in case the worst happens. Whilst you may not think the contents of your trailer tent are valuable, when you add them up on a cost to buy new basis, you’ll be surprised at what you could lose.

Your trailer tent insurance will also insure the trailer tent against theft, in case you come back and find it’s been stolen, either from the campsite, or from your home.
